The Native American Indians chose Madison Lake as a choice spot to fish and camp. The Indians and others who camped here acclaimed this place Point Pleasant, as the "Place in the Sun," which has been in existence since 1870.
Senior citizens of today recall spending their summers staying in first-rate cottages, the excellent beach and bath house, the unique diving pier, and yes, the seventy-five foot tobaggon slide into the water! After a day of many choices, the patrons enjoyed luxury meals and dancing in the pavillion into the wee hours of the morning.
